[d] How do I import and export Standards in PowerSchool Learning?

Follow

Q. How do Import and Export Standards in PowerSchool Learning?

A. Standards can be imported and exported in CSV format by going to Domain Control, clicking the Standards tab, and choosing Imports & Exports from the Manage Standards dropdown menu.

Importing

  1. Go to Domain Control
  2. Click on the Standards tab
  3. Open the Manage Standards dropdown and choose Imports & Exports

  4. Click Choose File and find the zip file you'd like to upload
  5. Choose which Organizations in your domain should have access to these standards. For example, do all teachers need these standards? Or just the high school teachers?

  6. Click Upload
  7. Once the upload is complete you'll be able to see a report of any errors in the Logs tab.

Important Notes on Import Format:

For full specifications, please see the Standard Import Specification Document.

  • The files must be in CSV format
  • The files must be compressed into a zip file
  • You can upload 2 CSV files in your zip: update_standards.csv and delete_standards.csv. You can include one or the other or both. The update file will create any new standards or update existing ones according to their Import ID numbers. The delete file will simply delete any included standards according to their Import ID numbers.

Exporting

Standards are exported in CSV format so you can easily open them with a spreadsheet program and upload them back into PowerSchool Learning. To export Standards:

  1. Go to Domain Control
  2. Click on the Standards tab
  3. Open the Manage Standards dropdown and choose Imports & Exports
  4. Go to the Download tab
  5. Select download standards in csv

Updating Standards Via Web Interface

After you have uploaded standards, you can choose to make updates via the web interface. However, any subsequent imports can overwrite those changes. For this reason, we do not recommend making significant manual changes if you will be primarily updating standards via import. OR, if you have made small changes via the web, we recommend that you download your standards, make any additional changes on that downloaded file, and then re-import.

To enable web edits:

  1. Go to Domain Control
  2. Click on the Standards tab
  3. Click on the Manage Standards dropdown and choose Settings

  4. Choose the check box next to "Allow Administrators to edit imported standards via the web."
